Imagine all of your body function controlled by two forces, being the “yin” and the “yang”. An upset of this balance creates what we know as being sick, diseased or injured from a western medical standpoint. This is the approach and mindset that acupuncture treatment takes with a long history rooted in traditional Chinese medicine.

In traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture works on energy channels within the body called meridians. An energy know as “qi” or “chi” runs through the body distributing the energy of yin and yang. The use of acupuncture is to restore the balance of this energy from stimulation of acupuncture points in the body with acupuncture needles. Stimulation can be achieved with twirling and or electrical stimulation of the needles.

Acupuncture is a very safe and effective treatment method to handle various musculoskeletal injuries. Clients often do not directly feel the needle, and will describe the sensation of the needle going in as a light tap on the skin.
